Simply put, we believe in people.
We believe in the cause of our clients, the capabilities of our employees and the goodwill of our many stakeholders who help us serve our clients. Without the help of others, we could not achieve success for our clients. We also believe that all people should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their economic, racial or social status, background or circumstances. At a fundamental level, we are all equal and should be treated that way as well – after all, we all enter and exit this world the same way!
We care about our clients and those who support our efforts because as a helping profession, we know instinctively that unless we genuinely care and have compassion for our clients and those we serve, we cannot effectively help them. Care always precedes the cure. And while we all value our independence and autonomy, it is also the case that we live in a very inter-dependent world where we need one another in order to thrive and reach our highest potential. No one person is an island and no one can predict the future or see what life has in store for us peering through a crystal ball. If life was only that simple! Despite our best intentions, in a moment's time our circumstances can change dramatically. We need each other.
We do not see life as a zero-sum game where if I win you lose or if you win I lose. Life is not about winners and losers. Rather, we encourage solutions to life's many difficult and vexing challenges that enhance the lives of our clients and their families as well as, when appropriate, those with whom we may be in conflict. Ultimately, we are in the business of helping, not hurting, people. We measure our results by the value we bring to each client, not in six minute time intervals or by how much money we can make. If our primary objective was to make money, we would be representing Exxon or Yahoo or some other behemoth corporation, not individuals of modest means.
If you believe what we believe, then we can help you. While no lawyer can guarantee results, what we can assure you is that if you retain our firm, you will be treated with respect and dignity and your case will be handled with the utmost care, diligence and consideration.
